Veterinarian treats animals. The science of understanding, identifying and curing animals is the main responsibilities of a veterinarian. They care for everything in an animal’s life, from giving birth to medical care. In metros, veterinarian uses high technology and surgery to treat the animals. In rural areas, veterinarians are very important to diagnose and treat the animals to keep their household activities running.
A veterinarian can take up a medical practice where he has to work at preventing diseases, prescribing medications, performing surgeries, etc. Veterinarians can find employment at animal treating hospitals, government veterinary departments, zoos, wildlife sanctuaries, police dog squads, poultry farm, and livestock management institutes. There are also job opportunities in teaching and research fields. The remuneration of a veterinarian depends on the workplace, specialization, and experience.
One needs to have courage while treating the animals because of their unpredictable nature. One should have patience, good knowledge about their profession, keen observation skill, skill for understanding animals’ language, love for animals and respect for their profession.
Aspirants must pass the national level entrance exam first. Bachelor degree in Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry Course five-year with a compulsory internship program. After completing bachelor degree one can register himself for practice. Interested candidates can pursue a master degree and then can go for a doctoral degree too.

Job satisfaction is there in this noble profession. Treating animals and do good to them is such a noble cause. This profession has become very lucrative and demanding as lots of people keep pets today. Sometimes you have to travel a lot and go to some unhygienic places to see and treat the animals. Also, the risk is there to treat some ferocious animals which might hurt you.
